Thoughts and Musings from Cult
This marked the first of eight studio releases in a thirty year span since their formation in 1984.
One of my favorite tracks on this album is Desolate Ways, (sadly Richard Brunelle's only songwriting legacy) an accoustic instrumental track that serves to break the album up nicely with a level of eeriness which is often imitated but rarely with this effect in numerous other death releases to this very day.
Alas this period wasn't to last. Following another impressive release, Heretic, and the touring cycle Steve Tucker left citing personal reasons eventually replaced by former bassist David Vincent (who was also briefly replaced by Jared Anderson, bassist for Hate Eternal, from ‘01–02).
