The first thing that struck me about this release was the artwork also the name of the band. They didn't fit comfortably especially within the realm of what I consider artwork found within traditional/run of the mill death, thrash, doom albums. Don't get me wrong the artwork is outstanding, a black and white depiction of three corpses in various states of decay in a quagmire of some kind. This artwork admittedly was intriguing enough for me to drop everything (ouch! That landed on my foot!) to warrant Diesel King and Concrete Burial my full attention. The music itself is much like one of the aforementioned acts, Acid Bath, as the style is also utterly genre unspecific. The closest genre approximation I can come up with is sludge, mixed with doom, mixed with traditional heavy metal then finally topped off with crust and that sadly doesn't even come close. The riffs are face crushing, bludgeoning violent and ground shakingly heavy. The vocals change constantly much like the attention span of a toddler very much deserved of handfuls of Ritalin (oh, a shiny penny.... a doughnut!). Screams coalesce with grunts, bellowed hardcore even occasionally something akin to a style found more often in crust and grindcore releases. Oftentimes the full extent of a track's lyrics wouldn't fill the space of a napkin, this fact doesn't bother me in the slightest, however, as I'm just blown away by the combination of all that makes this truly unforgettable and outstanding. I cannot pick a favorite track in as far as they're all as heavy and dense as a truck full of cement falling on your face, although with that being said Horror. Disgust is a track that makes me wanna move! Truly a release that's 'outside of the box', in fact, I'm placing bets it crushed the fuckin' thing unapologetically! At less than thirty minutes in length it left me wanting more. My limited lexicon fails me, my limited knowledge of words cannot do this any justice. Perhaps...

Need I describe Cannibal Corpse's trademark and oft imitated style? Technical (but not to point of boredom), brutal and adrenaline inducing I need more words dammit (Pat can I buy a vowel you twat!). Let's face it if you've yet to hear this album you're probably on the wrong site. Seriously, though we've covered them extensively in two separate Skullfucked treatments. Honestly, though if you have yet to spin this WTF! are you waiting for? Chris Barnes at his growling peak (you can probably understand perhaps one out of every ten words... great stuff), beyond creepy sound bites, drum beats that will hurt your calf muscles to try to parody and guitar rhythms/passages that are unrivaled forcing your limbs to have uncontrollable urges. Post Mortal Ejaculation still gives me chills, an amazing track nested amongst an album bursting at the seams with brilliance. This demands a revisit or a discovery at the very least... “Hey Grandma put these on, yea it's a new classical CD.” Wait wait... am I in your will? Ok cool. One of the very best death albums IMO that still holds up to this day.
