Welcome TWD Scribbler fans! Wow! Now that was a damn good finale to keep everyone on their toes! As The Walking Dead has shown us so many times, no one is ever safe except Darryl y’know that dude ain’t getting killed off!

Feind's Thoughts on the
Mid-Season Finale...

Picture
One of the coolest make-up jobs thus far
PictureGo ahead, make my day Bob!
Unlike most TWD episodes, the mid-season finale picks up right where the last left off with Deputy Bob trying to runaway. Something tells me this Bob may not be around long. Then we see Rick is in “hot pursuit” so with walkers everywhere will Bob get eaten or will Rick get his man? It only takes a moment to find out as Rick jumps in the cruiser to chase down the runner ending the chase with an unexpected thud but that’s nothing compared to what happens next. “Ya can’t go back Bob.” That definitive statement about sums up the whole series to this point then in a move I didn’t expect though Rick has shown an upswing in the badassery department, He just shoots Bob in the head adding what we were all thinking, “Shut up.” That’s a hell of start for the mid-season finale and also a bit foreboding as the show has teased all week that someone may eat it in this episode. So who’s it gonna be?

PictureYour bible can't save Father
Then we’re back to Father Dumbass and while he learns definitively that he wouldn’t last a day on his own, all I can do is pray he dies miserably. I was hoping maybe for him to be basically drawn and quartered by a horde of walkers but instead Father Dumbass leads the horde back to the church ‘cause y’know he’s a dumbass. Unfortunately Michonne and Carl show him the mercy that he didn’t show to his parishioners with the obvious irony of who is actually good, it ain’t Father Dipshit. He does show Michonne and Carl where he got out from so that they can escape but unfortunately Father Coward makes it out as well. The bible thumping prick still has killed a single walker so he really needs to go. I’m doubting that he’ll be the one to buy it in this episode though because no one would care if he did.

PictureYeah, I'm crazy, you wanna go Beth? Hmmmm
Back to Atlanta… With Deputy Bob dead the whole prisoner exchange plan could go south in a hurry but the two remaining deputies agree to play ball concocting the story of seeing poor Bob taken down by walkers (who they call “rotters” btw). Then switch to Sheriff “Total Bitch” Dawn alone in her office with Beth trying to reach the missing deputies by radio. We learn a little about Captain Hanson who was Dawn’s mentor but we still have no clue as to why she obviously killed him to take over. Dawn talks about being there to back up each other which seems to elude to Hanson failing to back her up at some point hence her decision to take over. It’s very little information doing little more than showing that there is an extremely disturbed person behind Dawn’s cold dead eyes.

Time for Michonne to put that sword to good use.
PictureBeth's Alive! Ummm hold that thought Maggie
Back to the church… Father Cowardly Dipshit is trying to explain himself (no one cares just die!) with the walkers about to bust out of the church at any minute when Abraham & crew arrive! Glenn gives Michonne the bad news that Mullet Boy is a big fat liar and Michonne gives her good news in return. She tells Maggie that Beth is alive and that Rick & crew are on the way to rescue her.

PictureO'Donnell's Away!
And back to Atlanta… Beth just can’t get away from crazy bitch Dawn but their conversation about Beth killing cop pervo/wannabe rapist is overheard by Deputy O’Donnell who has thoughts on taking Dawn’s place. A showdown begins with Dawn showing she can fight pretty good then gets a little help from Beth who shoves O’Donnell down the “dead drop” elevator and that’s the end of Viva La Revolucion! Beth retreats to Carol’s bedside but of course Dawn can’t leave her be. While Dawn tries to reason as much to herself as Beth you can see all Beth is thinking about is cutting the bitch’s throat. Dawn is all kinds of batshit crazy like an onion with many stinky layers that just can’t all be peeled back.

PictureYou talkin to me?
Speaking of crazy, Rick meets with a couple of Dawn’s deputies to set up the swap. Rick seems on the edge of total insanity in the mid-season finale not much different that Dawn nor from where he was back at the prison though he doesn’t seem to be hallucinating again yet. There’s a limit to how much anyone can take and it appears this whole season so far has Rick back on the edge only rather than despair this time there is a wildness behind his eyes. It had me wondering, is it Rick’s time? I really can’t see the writers doing that but then again, other than Darryl, no one is safe. Rick would make more for a season finale death than the mid-season but hey, who knows?

Time to swap!
PictureThis doesn't look good for Beth :(
Then it’s on to the exchange. Only about ten minutes left so who’s it gonna be? Who dies in the exchange? It’s a crazy off with Dawn’s crazy dead eyes and Rick’s wild “I just may shoot you anyway” eyes. The first prisoner is exchanged for Carol, so good so far. Crazy meets crazy as Dawn delivers Beth to Rick personally but that just isn’t good enough for Dawn the Crazy Bitch, she wants Noah back. You can see she doesn’t care about Noah, it’s just a power thing. She can’t bear to have any of her deputies think she’s weak since her authority (and sanity) are already being called into question. Noah agrees so that Rick’s group can leave but Beth can’t let it happen and then Dawn does the stupidest thing she could do saying to Noah, “I knew you’d be back.” Beth seems to have been harboring her own bit of crazy… and a pair of scissors! Beth should have gone for the jugular but as soon as she stabs Crazy Bitch Dawn… NOOOOO Beth is gone and due to some excellent FX so are some pieces of her brain!
Well I guess that means no more singing. Thanks a lot Walking Dead writers now I have to hear not only the endless whining about the wait until the show’s return in February but I have to spend the next 2 ½ months hearing them whine about this finale. I love it but seriously some people are probably gonna need a serious smackdown.

What's left.
PictureSo it took me a week to walk what the other's did in a day, so what?
Hopefully you stuck around for the end of the show instead of shutting it off in utter despair over the loss of Beth since finally we see Morgan again. Apparently he hasn’t made it too damn far from the first little snippet of him we got in the first episode of the season since he is just now getting to Father Gabriel’s (pussy) neck of the woods. The show ends with him seeing Rick’s name on the map Abraham left him finding out for the first time that his only friend left in the world just may be alive. So what will the second half of the season bring? Once again the group has no where to go and as Abraham would put it “no mission” other than to stay alive that is. Apparently Noah is the only one from Grady to join but where do they go now? The way north out of Georgia seems to be blocked so maybe head west? From the short preview of the second half it appears they are once again on the hunt for a safe haven but where the hell is left? The prison didn’t work, the Governor’s town is overrun and Morgan abandoned his little village of the dead so where to now? I guess we’ll have to wait about 2 ½ months to find. It wouldn’t be so bad of a wait if this dreaded holiday was stuck in the middle of it. I mean damn, I could really use some Dead during the holidays to make it worthwhile. I guess I’ll have to sate myself with horror flicks, that’s not so bad I guess.

I guess Beth couldn't Hold On... RIP Beth
