Welcome Scribbler Metalheads! Old Man Feind is having a slow crappy day so hopefully yours is going better. Since we're almost to the end of another dismal year it's time to start looking back at all the awesome metal that came out this year and man was there a ton! One I had nearly forgotten about was Wretched...
Well Scribbler fans we're coming fast to the end of another year so I finally started compiling my list of the best and man do I have my work cut out for me. It has been another stellar year for metal from the more mainstream-ish Mastodon to the more extreme end of the spectrum with Cannibal Corpse, Aborted and Behemoth all dropping excellent albums. Then there's everything outside of metal I listen to so that my list stands at over 50 albums right now and I'm not done going through everything! One album that I really enjoyed from the death metal spectrum, that I'm not sure there will be room for, was Wretched's Cannibal which came out in early June. It's an extremely solid death metal album but there was a ton of great death metal this year so while I whittle my list down to about 15 or 20 of the best of the best of 2014 I'll share some, probably quite a few, that were good but didn't make the cut. It's not a knock against how good Wretched's latest is, it's just that it was yet another year filled with more awesome metal which I have to say seems to just keep getting better year after year. Gone are the crappy 90s when metal faded slightly and for a solid decade now, at least, the year end lists have been difficult to compile. Give Wretched a shot then scroll down for some more deets on the band.
Cannibal is obviously out now and can be ordered via their label Victory Records as well as Amazon, iTunes or Spotify whichever is most convenient for you. Stay up to date with all the Wretched news & notes by following them on Facebook and/or Twitter.
