It was just prior to the 1st HHFF that I had the opportunity to interact with Corey other than just reading his writing and found him to be just a decent human being. He was looking for help pulling the 1st fest together and since my niece is an event co-ordinator in Austin, TX where the fest is held I thought I'd try to make a connection and help out my own family at the same time. He didn't end up using my niece's company but hey, it was worth a shot. I enjoyed Corey's writing and it was through him that I was first turned onto one of my current favorites, Pallbearer. I will be forever grateful. My condolences to Corey's family and friends who will miss him dearly. For me I feel like I've lost another kindred spirit, a writer who was obsessed with horror and metal. This is all I can give as my offering of grief...
