Welcome metalheads! While Old Man Feind was off last week we got our first taste of new SLAYER!! We miss Jeff Hanneman but time marches on and there's no better way to kick off Hump Day Metal Day than with SLAYER!
You probably saw this last week if you’re fans like Cult and I but we finally got to hear the first song from Hanneman-less (and Dave Lombardo-less) Slayer. The best I can say is that I don’t hate it. Why? Well I became a Slayer fan really with South of Heaven which is ironic in a way since this new song sounds like an alternate version of the title track. Seriously, it’s basically the same riff. It’s not really bad since I love South of Heaven but then I’ve also been listening to that album for 27 years. I hope the rest of Slayer’s latest album is better than this. I don’t mind if they go back to the tone of SoH era Slayer but if they’re just aping their own riffs I don’t see much of a point. Take a listen toWhen The Stillness Comes if you haven’t yet.

This track was released as a special 7" picture disc for Record Store Day this past Saturday (4/18/15) and the as of yet untitled new album will be out sometime later this year. If you don’t know where to find Slayer online then you’re probably not a fan and aren’t shouting,
