Welcome Scribbler Fans! I'm a little slow getting started today as Cult is keeping me busy and life happens. However, I have some brand new Exodus for you that should make you feel a little better! Today we get our first listen to some old school Thrash...
Old Man Feind is happy to bring you one from one of his first metal loves... Exodus. Earlier this year Exodus announced that vocalist Rob Dukes was out and former vocalist Steve Souza was back in. I very much enjoyed the albums done with Dukes at the helm but Souza's voice brings me back to the sounds of Exodus in my youth. Pleasures of the Flesh was my first Exodus album and I still have that bad boy only now my worn out old cassette has been replaced by the CD (which was a format not even available when it debuted. Yes, Feind is that damn old!) So prepare for that old school Exodus sound because even though founding member Gary Holt is pulling double duty trying to fill the unfillable shoes of Jeff Hanneman (RIP) in Slayer, who are currently in the studio preparing a new album btw, it sounds as if Exodus has regained their sound from the 80s and it's awesome! Take a listen to the first release with a guest spot from Metallica's Kirk Hammett, Salt The Wound, below then scroll down for your pre-order deets.
Blood In Blood Out comes out October 14th (US) via Nuclear Blast and can be pre-ordered here. This sounds like classic Exodus to me so you should definitely check it out. Thrash is entering it's 4th decade now, so much for being a fad! Just for fun here's my all time favorite Exodus track, Deranged!
