Welcome to the end of another Hump Day Metal Day! It’s time to fire up the media player to see what pops up this week. One of these times this is really going to suck but hopefully that day isn’t today. It’s going to be hard to live up to the awesome that popped up last week but as long we don’t hit any real stinkers I can live with it. Perhaps no one out there cares but I have fun doing this so I’ll keep on going. Enjoy or don’t but hopefully you will. So here… we… go… Witchcraft – No Angel or Demon (acoustic) from No Angel or Demon Ep ![]() Sweden’s Witchcraft began as basically a Pentagram tribute band but since they weren’t just playing cover songs their talent began to shine through and became popular of their own accord. Realizing they needed to be more than just Pentagram worshippers Witchcraft, guided by main man Magnus Pelander (who recently set down his guitar to concentrate on the vocals), have begun to forge their own musical path. This was one of the songs that won me over as a Witchcraft fan before picking up 2012’s awesome album Legend. Hard rock with a southern flare and still hints of Pentagram though Witchcraft has and is still developing their own sound. I honestly can’t wait for whatever they do next. Primus – Mr Krinkle from Pork Soda ![]() What can I really say? It’s fucking Primus! Pork Soda is one of my favorite full albums from Primus since it’s just awesome. Just try not bobbin your head along with this funky blast of Primus in their prime. Lyrically it’s as fucked up as most songs Les Claypool writes tend to be. Love ‘em or hate ‘em there is no denying Primus are truly one of a kind. One of the few bands that can be appreciated by metalheads and non-metalheads alike. So many great songs over the last nearly 25 years (their debut Sailing The Seas of Cheese turns 25 next year) and Mr Krinkle is no real exception. The Ramones – The KKK Took My Baby Away from Hey! Ho! Let’s Go!: Ramones Anthology Disc 1 ![]() Is there anyone out there who doesn’t love the fucking Ramones?! Seriously, if you don’t like The Ramones just fuck off! There isn’t a band with more catchy fun songs that we should all know the words to so we can scream along. They’re all gone now unfortunately and the world is certainly a dimmer place for it. Fortunately though their music will always be with us so get some if you don’t have any. The Ramones “greatest hits” anthologies aren’t hard to come by as I own a few. Motorhead – Heroes from Motorizer ![]() I was a bit of a late comer loving the loudest band on the fucking planet. Granted their earlier material is mostly better than the newer stuff but Motorizer had some really great Motorhead tunes on it. Heroes is more a middle of the road track but still pretty damn good. Though Lemmy has had a rough go recently and is really looking terrible Motorhead are apparently in the studio hard at work on like their 5000th album or something like that. It very well could be their last so it better be good. There are few icons in the metal world bigger than Lemmy and if we’re all being honest no one expected him to still be alive making great tunes. The man is a fucking legend! I could list a million favorites but I don’t have time here. Cavalera Conspiracy – The Doom Of All Fires from Inflikted ![]() The Cavalera brothers, Max & Igor, finally reunited over a falling out that raged for over a fucking decade. Sepultura has never been the same IMHO and while I enjoy Soulfly they weren’t Sepultura. I absolutely loved this album as it had the punk/thrash feel of those early Sepultura albums. The Doom Of All Fires wasn’t my favorite track (it’s good just not my fav) but very much sounds like Chaos AD era Sepultura. My jam has always been the title track, Inflikted, because that chorus always gets stuck in my head, “Inflikted/Show No Mercy/Mother Fuckin Wicked.” It just doesn’t get much better than that! Okay I know I should stop doing this but damn if one of my favorite songs ever didn’t pop up on my shuffle next so I have to share this fucker! Down – Bury Me In Smoke from NOLA ![]() This is my favorite song from one of the best albums ever fucking made. This first Down album just fucking rocks southern groove and sludge from start to finish. Though no one knew it at the time it was kind of the precursor to the falling apart of Pantera which still took several years to happen. But that’s a completely different discussion. Bury Me In Smoke is just one of the best songs ever written in my humble opinion and if it isn’t blasting out some big ass speakers at my funeral someday I’m rising up out of whatever pine box I’m laid in and killing everyone there. Truth be told I’d like to be cremated but that isn’t the fucking point man! If you people aren’t holding a pint, smoking a spliff or at the very least a fucking cigarette, blasting this tune at my funeral I will haunt you and every person in your family for eternity I swear to fucking Satan! So that’ll do it for this week. No more bonus tracks since what popped up next really fucking sucked. Yes, I have many albums that I don’t like every song on just as you do. That’ll do it for this edition, a little mellower Fast Five this week. There is obviously a fuck ton that hasn’t popped up yet so I’ll have to save them for another time. Until next week folks… FEIND OUT!! There you have it Scribbler fans. Feel free to play along and let me know what pops up in your shuffle then let me know in the comments below.
