Last one to end this lovely Hump Day Metal Day! Old Man Fiend reviewed Godchilla's debut album for my friend's over at Doommantia but I saw an opportunity to share them here today so after keeping you banging your head all day it's time to slow it down and chill out with some excellent new doom!
Thanx to the awesome editor Tony C over at Doommantia I was able to hear the new doomsters from Iceland called Godchilla. They were described as surfer doom so I was beyond intrigued. Just what the hell is surfer doom and how the hell does surfing come up in frigid Iceland? I was pleasantly surprised that the Icelandic youngsters infuse classic surf rock riffs into their doom with really only one track being a full on surfer assault. It was/is new and different and sounds damn great. If you haven't checked out my full review you can do so HERE. So today I saw the band post a fan-made visualizer type vid for the title track and I couldn't think of a better way to close out the day than with some awesome doom, that is far from typical or average. Chill out to Cosmatos below or go to my review and hear the whole album.
You can listen or buy Cosmatos courtesy of the Godchilla's bandcamp page. Also follow them on Facebook to stay up to date with all the band's latest.
