Lot 249 – A nerd summons an ancient Egyptian Mummy to carry out his murderous bidding against the classmates who framed him and cost him his scholarship.
Cat From Hell – A millionaire hires a hitman to kill a cat who has murdered 3 people in his mansion. But the hellish feline proves to be more than a match for the assassin.
Lover’s Vow – A broke artist witnesses a gargoyle murder someone in an alleyway one night but his life is spared after he vows never to tell anyone about what he witnessed. Years go by, the artist is happily married and thinking it’s a distant memory until he tells his wife his secret.
According to rumour, this movie was supposed to be the 3rd instalment in the Creepshow franchise. Fans of that series will certainly get a kick out of Tales From The Darkside. 25 years later, this gem still holds up well – funny, original and creepy, this is perfect Halloween viewing.
*Feind Note: Super glad Kiernan found this one on Netflix. I rented this a few years back but was unable to watch due to the DVD being scratched to hell. Now I can finally watch the whole thing! This is my kind of horror flick!

I remember seeing Ravenous for the first time when I was 12 years-old and it had an immediate impact. As a child about to blossom into a pubescent teenager, it disturbed me – it also made me laugh-out-loud. I guess you could say this movie shaped my “tastes” (no pun intended) and it’s been a constant in my life since. Ravenous is the best horror film of the 90’s and an unseen gem more people should be aware of. Every horror fan should see Ravenous at least once.
*Feind Note: I’m personally a gigantic Clive Barker fan who wrote the novella The Hellbound Heart on which the Hellraiser series is based. The films have been hit & miss for me but there is no doubt that Pinhead is the most badass villain in horror!
