It's hard knowing what to make of this film from the cover image alone. There's a bearded man in the forefront, the title is front and center and under it is the legend, “I'm Alan, this is what I do.” One can only ponder then... Does 7th Day have religious connotations? Is Alan a religious zealot on a mission of pious, righteous fanatical fury? Is this a movie that is similar in ilk to Isle’? Is Alan's beard real? There's only one way to find out the answers to these questions and perhaps shed light on a few more.
Alas there are huge holes in his logic. In some moments his reasoning follows a train of thought similar to the works of Frederic Nietzsche (famous philosopher, google kids!). At other times his reasoning leans more toward fanciful texts pulled from the works of theatrical masters of macabre literature. Alan believes that his (obsessive) feelings for Denise (Daisy Gibb) will be reciprocated and his ideal future will come to pass. He also appears to live under the illusion that his story makes sense and that it needs to be heard and documented for prosperity to be fully appreciated for generations to come.
