Welcome lovely readers! This one took me a little extra time due to traveling, moving and computer issues that threatened to ruin everything but luckily I lost nothing and I finally completed this wretched little tale the other day. Perhaps I’m becoming pre-cognitive or perhaps it was truly coincidence but the night prior to receiving this “Gruehead Challenge Yourself” I had a nightmare which is something that happens extremely rarely for me. Lucky for all of you (or not) I was able to weave, with some enhancement, that nightmare into this tale. I’ll leave to all of you to guess what part was my actual nightmare and which parts I added to enhance the experience. Just a hint, the beginning had no part in my nightmare unfortunately. I hope you all enjoy…
Well it’s been awhile (mainly since I’ve been out of the loop due to Facebook being a dick) but it’s time to answer another awesome Gruehead Challenge Yourself writing challenge to think in some different directions. This one was simple enough, rewrite a song in your own words keeping the rhythm and rhyme structure intact, sounds easy huh? Well it is and isn’t so how well or poorly I did I leave to you. I thought about destroying a Justin (lil bitch) Beiber or One (BARF!) Direction craptastic pop piece of shit but then I just couldn’t bring myself to 1) have to listen to one of their damn songs and 2) to give them any exposure no matter how negative it would be. Any press is good press as the saying goes. So instead I decided to take a classic I’ve always liked since I first heard it as a young boy and turn it well… into something a little darker.
Made it just in time for this week's GrueHead Challenge Yourself weekly writing challenge. This premise was simple finish this opening in one simple little paragraph. Maybe no so simple, Enjoy!
Dentist Disaster: You go in for a rather complex dental procedure and the dentist has to put you under in order to complete it. When you wake up, though, you are no longer in the dentist office. You are on a train with a briefcase handcuffed to your wrist. Just as you are soaking in this...
After some careful debate I decided to answer this week's GrueHead Challenge Yourself writing challenge after Cult took the initiative.
This is for and inspired by someone very special.
Well Scribbler fans the GrueHeads, courtesy of Crimson Quintessence, put out another Challenge Yourself writing experiment to spark some creativity. I decided to take on this week's challenge of "Voices Inside" accompanied by the picture below. This may be crap but it was fun. What I came up with was a little longer than what I expected but that's how it goes but it's still quite short. Please visit Rivers of Grue for tons of creative writing from the Keeper of the Crimson Quill as well as all the awesome GrueHeads! I hope you all enjoy!
