Cult here, I would like to take a moment to mention that the first two Dark Musings are connected. The first is influenced by the shorter Twitter fiction piece I wrote which is actually part of a series, Architect of Atrocity. I may one day revisit in short story form.
Originally intended as a submission to a website, I shall not mention, I had grand plans for all three pieces (including lastly the short story) to be included together as part of a variation on the same theme using different mediums, or something along those lines.
Following a lengthy discussion it was agreed that the "Preacher-Pedophile" thing was saturated to the point of boredom so I decided to switch things up a little and create a tale to conclude my trilogy. A slab of fiction that was a little different, something decidedly “me” and lastly something I hope readers will enjoy. This piece was also a landmark, in as far as it was the first time that Feind and myself collaborated on anything. I must therefore take a moment and say a heartfelt Thank you to my more than generous and delightful co-conspirator.
The rest as they say is history. Enjoy!
Architect of Atrocity
Righteous, pompous, deceiving and a wicked thief of innocence.
Patiently the architect plotted.
Watching as the altar boy ran crying, tears not the only fluid to have stained his starched garments.
The architect mused a fitting punishment.
In the dimly lit parking garage his opulent car sat, idling, never to reach a destination. The owner unconscious, nearing his own journey’s end.
Strapped down, struggling, screaming. Questions turn to begging, pleading, forgiveness finally confession. A needle and thread silence his diatribe.
Carving, hammering and tearing, the architect believes in punishment of wickedness without trial.
This piece certainly a statement.
The earliest of the parishioners found a veritable charnel house.
The Righteous suspended, hanging naked from the vaulted ceiling still draining fluid. The tongue found pierced with a crucifix laid upon bible verse citing punishment of Pederast. Exposed vertebrae, swaying torso, absent of head. It lay against open confessional door. Exposed brain cavity inhabited by plucked eyes and torn genitals.
The wicked had indeed been punished.
