This is normally where some side love story would rear its ugly head and while there is a courtship leading to marriage there really is no romance here though there is love. You see Turing had a secret thus the title of this film, Turing was a gay man in England at a time when it was illegal to be gay. Yes, it was illegal as in you could go to fucking jail just for being homosexual as it was deemed to be deviant behavior. So the man who for all intents and purposes won WWII, as much as anyone who fired a weapon, couldn’t even openly admit who the fuck he even was oh, and since his work was also classified and top secret it wasn’t until years later that he could even admit cracking the Enigma Machine and then not publicly. Sometimes history really sucks huge sweaty donkey balls!
