Year of the Snake!
It's a sad day for this Scribbler. After all but sole remaining founding member of Chimaira, Mark Hunter, quit the band earlier in the week Hunter sadly posted this today...
So that's it Scribbler Fans, a Feind favorite has bit the dust. It was amazing they survived a similar scenario just a couple years ago but when your entire band quits for a second time, I can't say I blame Hunter for throwing in the towel. Chimaira's music has meant more to me over the years than I can even put into words. Pure Hatred was and is one of my go to songs when I'm so fucking pissed I could strangle someone. However, more importantly Chimaira were the inspiration for the start of the writing journey that hopefully leads to publication soon. The first tale I sat down to write was inspired by Impending Doom and is still one of my favorite songs ever though I've listened to it nearly a million times. I had intended Impending Doom to be a simple short story but it turned into a nearly novel length tale that took me some time to finish. Chimaira will always live on with me as I can't even look at my own work without their music haunting me forever. Someone out there has to be in dire need of an excellent vocalist and songwriter so there's no doubt Mark Hunter will land on his feet! Good luck Mark and Cheers to Chimaira for leading me here to where I am today a few breathes shy of being a published author due in no small part to the inspiration that was passed on to me. In honor of Chimaira here are just a few of my favorites from over the years. Enjoy!
