New Rigor Mortis is here!
The 25 year wait for Rigor Mortis fans is finally over! Though it is both an extraordinarily happy occasion and a sad one all the same. The full original line-up reunited to make the new album, Slaves to the Grave, but sadly there will be no real reunion tour (with the original line up) due to the tragic passing of guitar guru Mike Scaccia RIP. However, as sad as Scaccia's passing is, is there any more metal way to go out than having a heart attack live on stage during a Rigor Mortis concert? Wouldn't we all love to go out doing the thing we love with the end coming without us even knowing it? I mean there you are happy as fuck then the next BOOM! you're shaking hands with Satan.
With all that said Scaccia did finish recording the guitar parts for the newest Rigor Mortis offering before his passing so Slaves to the Grave serves as a tribute also. Slaves to the Grave is set for a October 7th release though as of this writing pre-orders are not available but as soon as they are The Scribblers will provide a link. RM is planning an album release party on September 27th where fans will be able to purchase the album a full 10 days ahead of the general public, get the deets here. They will also be playing a Mike Scaccia tribute set at Phil Anselmo's Housecore Horror Film Fest under the name Wizards of Gore which should make Herschell Gordon Lewis loving Cult pop a big ol' smile! (see his Wizard of Gore B-View here)
Now I'll STFU and let you listen to the first new Rigor Mortis song in 25 years though if you had a brain in your head you scrolled down to hit play while you read, at least I assume you're all that intelligent. I know, I know Feind shouldn't assume shit! Anyway this new tune with the appropriate Rigor Mortis title of Flesh For Flies is intended as a tribute to the wonderful Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 which introduced this Scribbler to the awesome that is Bill Moseley as Chop Top! Now enjoy though you should have hit play a solid 5 minutes ago!
And just because I love Bill Moseley, here's Chop Top's first scene!
And just for fun some classic Rigor Mortis!
So there you have it Scribbler fans, hopefully you're looking forward to the new Rigor Mortis album as The Scribblers most definitely are. Share your thoughts with us in the comments below!
