Welcome metalheads! We love receiving new metal in our inbox and late last week we received this tasty little nugget from Swedish newcomers Acidiun. What do you think?
Sometimes we get so involved with our lives that it’s easy to forget just how lucky we are here at times. Yes, we’re still very small fish in a very large pond but we do receive some great music from three or four different labels as well as a few PR agencies and occasionally directly from bands. I can’t lie first, we receive more than we can cover unless I start working 30 hours a day which obviously isn’t possible and second, not everything we receive we like. I know no one probably cares but I want you all to know we pour through a lot we don’t like to bring you what we do like and believe is worth your time. That brings me to this recent release from a small band perhaps you haven’t heard of which made me want to share them with you today. Last week Swedish band Acidiun sent me their 3 song Ep saying that they considered their music to be non-generic metalcore/deathcore. This had me reluctant to hit play since I’ve stated probably too many times that I do get very tired of metalcore and/or deathcore because bands do tend to sound the same. There are rare bands that stand out from that pack and I try to share those I find here on the site. That’s why I’m sharing this today. Acidiun mix metalcore and deathcore in a way that sounds a little like both and neither at the same time with an end result that you can just call “Fuckin’ Metal!” So hit play on the single Strolling Downward and see if you like it as much as I did. Enjoy it because you should!
Check out Acidiun’s debut Ep 9 Circles on Spotify (sadly I couldn’t since I don’t have a Spotify account so let me know what you think of the whole thing). Then take a moment to give them a like on Facebook to keep on all the band’s latest news and notes.
Enjoy all the metal we share every Hump Day Metal Day? Please take a moment to show your appreciation with a small donation below or stop by S Mart for some original Scribbler gear or the published works of the The Scribbler Crew. Thank You.
