Hello Scribbler fans! Although about 95% of what I listen to is metal, I do often step away from the headbanging brain damage to chill out. Not long ago I heard new band Blues Pills just by random chance and they're pretty damn good. So relax with me and a High Class Woman!
You read that correct Scribbler fans I listen to more than just metal. Some things I listen to are far from it. I have a soft spot for old blues like Howlin Wolf, Skip James and, of course, Leadbelly up to my current favorites Clutch (they're not all blues but all blues based). Blues to me is the source and the heart of all rock 'n' roll which eventually led to metal so when I listen to the blues I hear riffs that pop up all over metal and themes that are often thought of as depressing that always seem to have the opposite effect on me as they're just so damn good!
I stumbled across Blues Pills a month or two ago more by pure happenstance than anything else. There seems to be a huge movement toward 70s type hard rock and stoner rock these days so with all that retro-music happening I often skip over bands that are doing that. For some reason I decided not to when I saw Devil Man by Blues Pills for the first time and I'm glad I didn't. I've only heard a couple songs off their Nuclear Blast debut, it's available now so order it here, but I think I'm hooked. This is some excellent bluesy rock 'n' roll and I hope you agree. Check out their new vid for High Class Woman plus a few others I found for you and see for yourself.
Blues Pills debut album was released by Nuclear Blast on July 25th so click on that link above to order it. There are several different packages available for you vinyl collectors or just order the CD. It's well worth it so check it out. If you're a cheap SOB like I am you can listen to the full album via their own webiste here so now you have no excuse not to!
