The Movie and Music Network…
As the movie progresses Caesar talks the management of Xmas Enterprises into making a low budget movie with the allure that the “return” is there (when in fact it might not be as facts and figures roll across the screen like a ticker-tape) with his expertise at the helm! He hopes to also utilize the script that, incidentally, he had recently completed. Unbeknownst to the brothers, of course, the real killer is in their midst. A coworker in the same company who doesn't take kindly to a remark aimed in his direction in jest. The killings continue, closer to home and Otto finds himself somehow implicated but that's enough spoilers folks!
Deadly Xmas appears to thrive as an homage, of sorts, to a vast number of films, in and out of the horror genre. The TV series '24' is given props in the first five minutes in several split screen shots that are used again later in the movie also. In the end credits, the idea of horror movie productions based around a holiday theme is beaten to death with “outtakes” under the guise of improvised and or forgotten lines. The film even goes so far as to explain the difference between Xmas and Christmas, an explanation that explores further what the film's introduction teased which is a scenario so simple you may even ask yourself why others haven't expanded on it further.
