Now the thing the band does that makes you think it will be the reason they end up trapped is actually pretty funny but I’d bet not one person reading this (including myself) would have the giant cojones to do themselves. Once they see the crowd is all skinheads they think it will be funny to play the Dead Kennedys classic, Nazi Punks Fuck Off. I was laughing and thinking they may not make it off the stage but it’s always good to hear some Dead Kennedys. The soundtrack for Green Room is definitely awesome but it also leads me to my one complaint about the film. I may be the only one to get pissed about this but after decades of false allegations and tons of other bullshit I was very upset that Slayer was used as the skinheads “house music.” While I didn’t mind hearing War Ensemble playing in the background at all, it really pissed me off that it was used in that way. I know Slayer kind of brought the nazi sympathizer crap on themselves with the symbolism and writing songs in the way they have since the beginning but it takes all of 2 seconds to see they’ve done so to dabble in taboo subjects as a middle finger to the powers that be. Sorry that just really gets my goat as a Slayer fan since the ‘80s. The naïve hear Slayer music used in that context and will forever think of them as some “whiter power” band which they very much are not. Sorry for the rant, as I said few others will probably even notice that.
