In a “team up” film like this it generally starts with a team of misfits who fail at an early point learning they need to trust each other and come together to fight the big bad guy/guys at the end but that isn’t what happens here. The SS members (thinking maybe I shouldn’t abbreviate that) have no real reason to come together and I never believed they would have by the end. They fight a bunch of cannon fodder baddies and in the end apparently only one of the team is really needed instead of the whole team coming together. So again I’m torn on this one, I like basically half of the movie and completely dislike the other half but those halves are intertwined and neither one really outweighs the other for me. So I guess it comes down to, “would I watch it again?” The answer is yes but not all that enthusiastically like if it was on TNT on a Sunday afternoon and there was nothing else better on kind of thing. The sad thing is Suicide Squad is a “meh” film making it the best DC film of the current universe in my opinion. Apparently they’re going to keep trying so they have to make a good film eventually… right? I know some of you will strongly disagree with me but I’ve lost all faith in DC/Time Warner at this point to put out anything even worth watching. It seems they can make awesome trailers but that’s about it. Feel free to hate on me in the comments, this is just my opinion.
