Loneliness and desolation filled him to overflowing. Should he just put the pedal down launching himself into a wall or off a cliff? The thought was becoming more appealing with every passing hour. He couldn’t be the only survivor, could he? What if the only other survivors were on the other side of the world? Try as he might he couldn’t push the thought of being alone forever from his mind.
A tear rolled down his cheek as he hit his bike’s start button. He sped away to wherever the next destination may be. One more, he told himself. Look in one more city. He had been telling himself that same message for going on six months now. One more kept him going. One more kept hope alive. He wasn’t sure how many one mores he could take but away he sped to the next one more, alone.
